Yesterday was a special day, and I almost missed it until I saw someone post about it last night. And someone mentioned it on the blog yesterday. It was Winter Solstice Day. While this means winter has officially arrived, it also means that each day is a little longer. Well, the day isn't longer (don't we wish!), but the sunlight is a little longer. I don't care if the daylight is only a few seconds longer— soon it will be summer! Don't worry -- I like winter, and as long as you dress appropriately, it's not ...

We had the soup for lunch -- it was excellent, although I watered it down a wee bit too much. I have already given DH my grocery list for today, and I've asked for more squash! I see someone sent me a recipe. I might become a soup maker as I love soup for lunch!
DH and I finally went out to dinner on our own last night. Hmmm -- I miss those date nights alone and will have to get back to that. I think KU will have to stay home as it's one of the few times we ...

I spotted this on Facebook yesterday, and I thought it was so appropriate for us sewists. This is what happens to me.
It's all the prep work that takes so much time, and the actual sewing is just a small part of it.
I have sewn part of the sixth binding onto one of the dog quilts. It was the black one, and I knew I would need more strips, but how many? So I sewed what ...
read moreAHA --- Someone mentioned that it might help if one person read the EXIT story. That's what we typically do, except this is a graphic novel, so that won't work. We'll each read and then collaborate on the puzzle solving. We didn't get a chance last night as DH was working late.
I must remember to focus on what I did! But that's usually what I do on the blog anyway. It's kind of a recap of everything that happened the day before!
Oh, the second thing I made on my digital cutter arrived at ...

But here is something that I made a while ago. Now that the recipient has received it and the group has seen it, I can share it with you.
I have several digital cutters and used the Singer Momento to make this one. I found a project on the mySewnet website and modified it slightly to suit my needs.
I hate giving a gift card. Well, it's not ...
read moreI think we all know the answer to that question. The aging process can't be stopped, but it can be slowed. Even though I was and always have been very active, there were certain things I was NOT doing for my body, and it was starting to show—big time. This was not just because of aging but also the issue with my leg/back—whatever it is.
So I decided to take back my life! I started stretching more—not enough, but way more than before. I started lifting weights (I'm never going to have a six-pack ...

Oh, the TV and surround sound system are gone! The guy came a little late but was happy to get the TV and thought it was a good deal. I'm not sure about the other stuff, but that's not my problem. That TV is heavy, but the guy picked it up from the front step ...
